I married in 2005 and had 4 wonderful children.

The story of The Gift Chicken goes back over 100 years. My grandfather started a simple jewellery repair shop in the Ely area of Cardiff after his return from the Great War.

Then my dad Stan Rogers (1928 to 2019)

This was kept going by my father who fixed jewellery on a part time basis. He did this for 30 years before failing health stopped him. Stan Rogers passed in 2019. His influence on The Gift Chicken is profound, he kept chickens taught me the way to keep them.

I picked up the mantle a bit in my early teens but a head of big ideas and big dreams. I did a law degree. Then a masters in sustainability. My wife at the time of my law degree insisted I did something to bring in extra money. My dad being my dad, handed over all his gold and silversmith tools and gave me a small loan to buy materials. As such, our first business was born. This was a small online jewellery business and we noticed that most of the people were buying for gifts...

At the same time my wife bought a machine that could cut stickers and such to make these amazing little transfers, T Shirts and more. When the pandemic came, we decided to combine the two elements and offer the best gifts to people who buy serious gifts. As such, after 3 generations, 104 years, 2 global wars, a global pandemic and much more, a business is born that offers all that George and Stan Rogers wanted, to everyone. In essence, The Gift Chicken is the culmination of passed knowledge, be it of jewellery, chickens and retail.
